The oath-taking ceremony was administered by Senior Judge Justice Ijazul Ahsan, with various dignitaries in attendance, including judges from the Supreme Court and Lahore High Court, the Attorney General for Pakistan, and representatives from the Pakistan Bar Council and Supreme Court Bar Association.
Jazeela Aslam, the Registrar of the Supreme Court, conducted the proceedings of the oath-taking ceremony. Officers and staff of the Supreme Court of Pakistan were also present at the occasion. According to a press release shared on the Supreme Court’s official website, Justice Tariq Masood is expected to perform the duties of Acting Chief Justice for a duration of two weeks.
Earlier in the week, President Arif Alvi approved the appointment of Justice Sardar Tariq Masood as the Acting Chief Justice of Pakistan. The Ministry of Law and Justice subsequently issued a notification confirming the appointment.
