The lifeless body of 19-year-old Roma Saleem was presented at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) by her husband, Saleem, who asserted that she had succumbed to natural causes.
Contrary to this claim, the girl’s father and maternal uncle informed the police that the in-laws had subjected her to severe torture, leading to her premature demise. The uncle, speaking to the police, disclosed that he had conversed with Roma the night before, and she appeared to be in good health.
“It was only on Sunday afternoon that we discovered her deteriorating condition, and she was subsequently moved to a nearby hospital, where she passed away,” he stated.

The Station House Officer (SHO) of Korangi mentioned that the exact cause of death would be established following the postmortem report.
Speaking to the media at Jinnah Hospital, Roma’s father revealed that his daughter had previously reported instances of physical and mental abuse by her husband and mother-in-law.
“We urged her to adapt to the new family. Just seven months into the marriage, and they took the life of my daughter,” he lamented.
Saleem, the deceased woman’s husband, contended that he returned home from work at midnight on Saturday, shared dinner with his wife, and watched TV until 2:30 am. “On Sunday morning, I attempted to wake my wife, but she did not respond. We’ve been married for seven months, and my wife had no pre-existing health issues,” he added.
The police were conducting interrogations involving all the suspects implicated in the case.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
