A standout feature is Tecno’s unique W-shaped adjustable aperture, inspired by the cuttlefish eye. This design aims to minimize glare in challenging lighting, particularly strong backlight situations. The anticipation is high regarding the specific sensor and lens combination Tecno will pair with this W-shaped shutter in future devices.

Tecno also unveiled an industry-first: a liquid telephoto macro lens. While liquid lens technology has been seen before, its integration into a periscope module is groundbreaking. Periscope lenses often struggle with achieving macro focus within the confines of a traditional two-section housing due to their size. Tecno’s design utilizes voltage to adjust the lens curvature, seamlessly switching from wide to narrow focus, achieving a macro focus distance as close as 5cm. This technology also allows the use of larger sensors, providing a significant advantage.
Most smartphones currently use their ultra-wide cameras for macro shots, but this often leads to image distortion due to the wide perspective. Tecno’s approach, employing a longer focal length with a periscope zoom, offers a more authentic approach to macro photography, potentially delivering higher-quality, distortion-free images.
Tecno also detailed its Universal Tone technology, leveraging three AI-powered engines to enhance skin tones in photos. The Multi-Skin Tone Restoration Engine uses a color spectral matrix, developed through extensive research on skin color chromatics, to accurately calibrate and adjust skin tones.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
