In Lahore, a non-bailable arrest warrant has been issued for Maryam Marriyum Aurangzeb, a former minister and leader of the Pakistan Muslim League. According to local media, an Anti-terrorism court issued the warrant due to Aurangzeb’s non-appearance in court.
ATC Judge Abhar Gul Khan presided over the case hearing involving the former information minister, leading to the issuance of a non-bailable arrest warrant for the outspoken politician.

During the Saturday hearing, other co-accused individuals attended court proceedings and fulfilled their required appearances, as reported by the media. Meanwhile, the court granted time to the lawyers representing the accused to confer and prepare their arguments.
The case, filed against Maryam Aurangzeb and others in 2022 at Green Town police station in Lahore, involves charges related to terrorism. Specifically, a terrorism case was registered against Marriyum Aurangzeb and Javed Latif in Lahore for ‘using religion to spread hatred’ against PTI chief Imran Khan, citing sections 9 and 11X-3 of the PPC (Pakistan Penal Code) related to punishment for acts intended or likely to stir up sectarian hatred and responsibility for creating civil commotion.
