Bahrain’s parliament declared on Thursday that the nation has recalled its ambassador from Israel and severed trade connections with Tel Aviv.

The rationale behind this decision is rooted in the kingdom’s longstanding and unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, as stated in the announcement.

The statement confirms, “The Council of Representatives affirms that the Israeli ambassador in the kingdom of Bahrain has left Bahrain, and the kingdom of Bahrain has decided to recall the Bahraini ambassador from Israel. The decision to cease economic relations was also made.”

“The Council reiterates that the ongoing conflict and military operations, along with Israel’s ongoing escalation without respect for international humanitarian law, compel the Council to call for additional measures and actions to safeguard the lives of innocent individuals and civilians in Gaza and all Palestinian territories,” it further noted.
