[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]In response to an unprecedented surge in the number of passport applicants, the Director General of Immigration and Passports (DGIP) has announced revisions to the official passport delivery times. The changes are aimed at accommodating the overwhelming demand for passports and ensuring efficient processing.
Effective immediately, the new passport delivery times are as follows:
Passport Type | Previous Delivery Time | New Delivery Time |
Normal | 10 days | 21 days |
Urgent | 4 days | 5 days |
Fast Track | 2 days | 2 days |
The DGIP has also emphasized the importance of adhering to designated office hours at passport offices nationwide. These hours are as follows: 8:00 am to 1:00 pm from Monday to Thursday and 8:00 am to 12:00 pm on Fridays.

In the event of any inconvenience or issues with passport services, applicants are encouraged to register their complaints through the Pakistan Citizen Portal. Additionally, for any queries or assistance, individuals can contact the DGIP helpline at 051-111-344-777.
It is worth noting that in April of this year, the delivery times for normal, urgent, and fast-track passports had been significantly reduced to 10 days, 4 days, and 2 days, respectively.
However, despite these adjustments, it’s important to acknowledge that the Pakistani passport continues to be ranked among the least powerful in the world. According to a report by UK-based citizenship and residence advisory firm Henley & Partners, the Pakistani passport currently ranks as the fourth-worst globally in terms of visa-free access and travel privileges. This highlights the ongoing challenges faced by Pakistani passport holders in terms of international mobility.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
