[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]On his return to the national team, all-rounder Imad Wasim opened up about his experience playing under Babar Azam’s captaincy.
Imad remarked in an exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan that he and Babar have mutual respect and that when he plays for Pakistan, he puts everything else aside.
“When you play for your country, you put other factors aside, and that’s exactly what we did.” Everything was set aside. Needless to say, he [Babar] is the captain of Pakistan’s team, whereas I was more of a player. This mutual respect between us has always existed and continues to exist. And when you play for your nation, you have to leave all of that behind,” Imad explained.
The 34-year-old all-rounder also recalled his picture with Babar aboard the plane, which went viral during the New Zealand series, and stated that they would remember these events as teammates in the coming years.

“This is all part of the fun because, in 15 to 20 years, we’ll look at these pictures and smile or laugh about what we’ve done and accomplished.” As a result, these memories are limitless. Above all, adore one other; this is what we call satisfaction,” he continued.
Aside from international cricket, Imad was a key role in the PSL, where he was the third-highest run-scorer with 404 runs in 10 innings at an average of 134.67, including three half-centuries. The 34-year-old was as impressive with the ball for his club, taking nine wickets in ten innings at an average of 28.22, with his best bowling statistics being three for sixteen.
These strong performances earned him a recall to the T20I squad, and he finally went on to play under Babar’s captaincy in the five-match T20I series against the Kiwis.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
