ICC chairman to visit Pakistan

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Greg Barclay, Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC), and Geoff Allardice, Chief Executive, will arrive in Pakistan on Tuesday for a two-day official visit.

During their visit, the officials will meet with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi and Chief Operating Officer Barrister Salman Naseer.

This will be the first visit by the ICC Chairman since President Ray Mali’s visit in 2008, as well as the first visit by both top ICC officials since 2004.

Allardice, on the other hand, has been visiting the subcontinent country on a regular basis, first as the ICC General Manager of Cricket and then as the ICCl Chief Executive.

The ICC and PCB’s top officials will meet to discuss the upcoming World Cup 2023, the Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan, and the newly proposed financial model.

Earlier this month, the ICC proposed a financial model in which BCCI would receive more than half of annual earnings, making it the highest-earning board by a wide margin.

Concerned about the model, the PCB Chairman demanded transparency from the ICC and clarification on how share distribution was determined.

“We insist that the ICC reveal how these figures were derived.” “We are dissatisfied with the current situation,” Najam Sethi stated.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
