Lahore Police Arrest Suspect Accused of Assaulting Schoolgirl

Police have arrested a suspect allegedly involved in the sexual assault of a schoolgirl in Lahore’s Kahna area. The arrest followed directions from senior police officials to ensure an early investigation into the case.

DIG Operations Faisal Kamran took notice of the incident and ordered police to arrest the suspect as soon as possible. Officers subsequently traced and detained the man accused in the case.

According to SP Asad Ali, the suspect allegedly became acquainted with the schoolgirl before taking photographs with her. Police said he later allegedly used those photographs to blackmail the girl.

The suspect allegedly threatened the schoolgirl and subjected her to sexual assault. Police said the incident occurred after the girl left her home to attend school.

SP Model Town said the suspect allegedly blackmailed the girl during her journey to school. He then allegedly took her to a house located on Shehzada Road.

Police registered a case against the suspect, identified as Kashmail. Following his arrest, he was handed over to the Gender Cell for further investigation.

The investigation will focus on establishing the circumstances surrounding the alleged assault and determining whether the suspect used photographs to threaten or control the victim.

Police officials said appropriate legal action would be taken based on the findings of the investigation. Authorities have also stressed the importance of protecting women and children from exploitation and abuse.

The case highlights concerns surrounding the misuse of photographs for blackmail. Such threats can place victims under severe pressure and may prevent them from immediately seeking help.

Police have said individuals involved in the exploitation of women will not be shown any leniency. Officials said strict action would be taken against those found responsible under the law.

Further developments in the case are expected as the Gender Cell continues its investigation. The suspect will face legal proceedings based on the evidence collected by investigators.

Authorities have also urged victims of harassment, blackmail or abuse to seek help from law enforcement agencies. Police can investigate such complaints and take action against suspects according to the law.
