Hajj 2027: Govt Opens Applications for Staff

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has invited applications from regular federal and provincial government employees for recruitment under Pakistan’s Hajj Operation 2027 in Saudi Arabia.

The ministry will recruit Khuddam-ul-Hujjaj and Nazims to assist Pakistani pilgrims during Hajj 2027. Both male and female government employees from BS-07 to BS-18 are eligible to apply, subject to the prescribed criteria and quota requirements.

The selection process will be conducted by the Open Testing Service (OTS), which will organize written examinations and, where required, physical or endurance tests for eligible candidates.

According to the ministry, the recruitment process will follow the applicable federal, provincial and regional quotas. The number of positions has not been fixed permanently and may be increased, reduced or cancelled depending on operational requirements, Pakistan’s Hajj quota and instructions issued by the Saudi authorities.

Positions Available for Hajj 2027

The available positions have been divided into different categories according to the applicants’ basic pay scales and responsibilities.

Supervisory positions will be available for employees in BS-17 and BS-18, while field and support positions will be offered to eligible employees from BS-07 to BS-16.

Selected officials will be expected to perform duties related to the facilitation, supervision and assistance of Pakistani pilgrims during the Hajj operation in Saudi Arabia.

The recruitment of Khuddam-ul-Hujjaj and Nazims is an important part of Pakistan’s annual Hajj arrangements, as these officials help pilgrims with various administrative, logistical and support-related matters during their stay in the holy cities.

OTS to Conduct Selection Process

The Open Testing Service will manage the recruitment examination and other assessments under the criteria approved by the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Applicants may be required to appear in written tests, while physical or endurance tests will also be conducted where applicable according to the relevant position and eligibility requirements.

The ministry has instructed interested government employees to carefully review the complete eligibility criteria before submitting their applications.

Applicants should also check the prescribed quota distribution, terms and conditions, syllabus, test requirements and application procedure to ensure that they meet all requirements.

Application Deadline

The last date for submitting applications for Hajj Operation 2027 recruitment is August 27, 2026.

Government employees interested in serving Pakistani pilgrims during Hajj 2027 are advised not to wait until the final date and should complete the application process after reviewing all relevant instructions.

The ministry has also advised applicants to regularly check official sources for updates regarding the recruitment process.

Roll Number Slips and Test Updates

After the completion of the application process, applicants will need to monitor updates regarding roll number slips, test schedules, results and other recruitment-related announcements.

The OTS applicant portal will provide important information to candidates throughout the selection process. Applicants are therefore encouraged to regularly visit the OTS website and applicant portal.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony will also provide relevant information through its official communication channels.

Hajj 2027 Preparations

The recruitment drive comes as Pakistan begins preparations for the Hajj 2027 operation. Government officials selected through the process will play a supporting role in facilitating Pakistani pilgrims and ensuring that operational arrangements are properly managed in Saudi Arabia.

The ministry said the final number of positions will depend on actual requirements, the Hajj quota allocated to Pakistan and the instructions, or Taleemat, issued by Saudi authorities.

This means that the number of available posts could change during the recruitment process depending on the operational needs of the Hajj operation.

Employees interested in applying should therefore carefully review the official advertisement and ensure that their application meets the required conditions.

For additional information, applicants can contact the Section Officer (PW) at 051-9208508.

Important: The application deadline is August 27, 2026, and eligible government employees are advised to complete their applications before the deadline.
