The Punjab government has announced the Punjab Shrimp Internship Program 2026-27 to provide practical training for young professionals interested in shrimp farming and aquaculture. The initiative offers paid internships with a monthly stipend of Rs. 100,000.
The program aims to develop skilled professionals while supporting the growth of the aquaculture sector in Punjab. A total of 100 interns will be selected to receive one year of practical training at the Shrimp Estate in Ali Wali, Muzaffargarh.
During the internship, participants will gain hands-on experience in different areas of shrimp production. Training will include shrimp farming, hatchery operations, feed manufacturing, laboratory work, processing, and other related technical fields.
The internship will continue for one year. All selected candidates will be posted at the Shrimp Estate, where they will work with experienced professionals and learn modern aquaculture techniques.
The available internship positions have been distributed across several professional categories. There are 26 positions for Farm and Hatchery Interns, 10 for Feed Mill Interns, 10 for Farm Designing Interns, 10 for Processing Plant Interns, 10 for Chemist Interns, 10 for Pathologist Interns, and 10 for Microbiologist Interns.
The program also includes six positions for Quantity Surveyor Interns, five positions for Electrification Design Interns, and three positions for Aqua Marketing and Trading Interns.
Every selected intern will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 100,000 throughout the training period. The financial support is intended to help young professionals focus on learning practical skills while gaining industry experience.
According to the announcement, the internship is designed to strengthen technical knowledge and prepare participants for future careers in aquaculture. The program also supports efforts to improve shrimp farming standards and increase production capacity in Punjab.
