The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has announced special instructions for candidates from Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) who were unable to complete their online registration for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026. The decision provides eligible students with another opportunity to participate in the admission process.
According to the PMDC, AJK candidates who missed the online registration can now submit their applications through a hard copy process. The council said applicants must submit the required documents along with a bank draft of Rs13,000.
Applications will be accepted at the PMDC office in Islamabad until July 23, 2026. The council said the special arrangement has been introduced to facilitate AJK students who could not complete the online registration process within the prescribed deadline.
Earlier, the PMDC announced that MDCAT 2026 will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Online registration for the examination started on June 22 and continued until July 8, while candidates were allowed to register with a late fee until July 13.
The registration fee for candidates appearing in Pakistan was fixed at Rs9,000, while the late registration fee was Rs13,000. For candidates appearing at international test centers, the registration fee has been set at Rs45,000. PMDC has clarified that all registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
The council also announced the institutions responsible for conducting the examination in different regions. Sukkur IBA University will conduct MDCAT in Sindh, while the University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore will oversee the examination in Punjab.
Similarly, Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar will conduct the test in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences Quetta will be responsible for Balochistan.
For candidates from Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Riyadh, the examination will be conducted by Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU).
The PMDC has advised all eligible AJK candidates who missed online registration to complete the hard copy application process before the July 23 deadline to avoid missing the opportunity to appear in MDCAT 2026.
