At the Karachi Airport, no cases of monkeypox were discovered among suspected passengers.

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Monkeypox (Mpox) has not been found in any of the four passengers who landed from the UAE at Karachi Airport’s Jinnah International Terminal earlier this week, according to the Sindh Health Department.

On April 26 (Thursday), the passengers arrived in Karachi on two different aircraft and showed symptoms of the fatal illness.

The same evening, samples from the travellers were delivered to a Dow Ojha University laboratory for chemical analysis. The samples were examined using the PCR method, and on Friday, the health agency received the report. Two Somali and two Pakistani subjects provided skin samples to the Ojha Lab on Thursday evening, and the health agency received the results a day later, on Friday evening.

Following the discovery of two cases of the viral illness in travellers returning from Saudi Arabia, there are now two additional suspected cases of monkeypox. They were citizens of Rawalpindi and Islamabad who were immediately quarantined after arriving in Pakistan.

A zoonotic disease, or one that may spread from animals to humans, is monkeypox. Monkeypox symptoms include fever, headache, muscle aches, backache, swollen lymph nodes, chills, and exhaustion.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
