CDA Accelerates Plot Handover in E-12, C-14 and I-12

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has directed its engineering wing to speed up the issuance of possession letters for thousands of developed plots in sectors E-12, C-14 and I-12. The authority also instructed officials to complete the remaining development work as quickly as possible to facilitate plot owners.

The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by CDA Chairman Sohail Ashraf. Officials informed the meeting that around 2,200 plots in Sector E-12 and more than 5,000 plots in Sector I-12 are ready for possession. They also confirmed that most plots in Sector C-14 have been developed and are ready to be handed over.

The CDA chairman directed the engineering wing to complete the remaining infrastructure and development work without unnecessary delays. He stressed the importance of ensuring that plot owners receive possession as soon as possible after years of waiting.

According to officials, development work in Sectors I-12 and C-14 has crossed the 90 percent mark. However, nearly half of the development work in Sector E-12 is still pending, requiring additional efforts to complete roads, utilities and other essential infrastructure.

The meeting also reviewed progress in other housing sectors facing delays. It was decided that the status of stalled sectors, including E-13, F-13, D-13, C-13, C-15 and C-16, will be discussed during the next meeting to identify obstacles and accelerate development work.

Sector E-12 has remained one of Islamabad’s longest-delayed housing projects. Launched in 1989, the sector has remained incomplete for decades despite the sale of more than 4,000 residential plots, leaving many buyers waiting for possession.

The CDA hopes that speeding up development and issuing possession letters will provide relief to plot owners and improve confidence in the capital’s housing projects. Officials said efforts will continue to complete the remaining work and reduce delays across other underdeveloped sectors.
