The district administration of Vehari has announced a public holiday on July 11 to facilitate devotees attending the annual Urs of Baba Diwan Haji Sher. The decision was announced through an official notification issued by the district administration.

Deputy Commissioner Khalid Javed said the three-day Urs celebrations will begin on July 9 and continue until July 11. Every year, a large number of devotees visit the shrine to participate in religious gatherings and other activities held during the annual event.

According to the notification, the public holiday will be observed throughout the Vehari district. The administration said the holiday has been declared to help citizens and visitors take part in the Urs without facing unnecessary difficulties.

Officials expect a large turnout during the celebrations. They said the holiday will also help local authorities manage traffic, security, and public services more effectively during the three-day event.

Despite the public holiday, students appearing in examinations will not receive any changes to their schedules. The district administration clarified that examinations conducted by educational boards and universities will continue according to the existing timetable.

Students have been instructed to appear for their examinations as scheduled. Educational institutions and examination authorities will continue to follow their previously announced examination plans without any delay.

The district administration also confirmed that essential government services will remain fully operational throughout the holiday. Medical facilities, emergency services, security agencies, and administrative departments will continue performing their duties to ensure public convenience.

Officials said security arrangements have been strengthened for the Urs celebrations. Law enforcement agencies will remain on duty to maintain peace and manage the expected increase in visitors arriving from different parts of the region.

Medical teams will also remain available to provide emergency healthcare services if needed. Authorities said hospitals and rescue services will continue operating to respond quickly to any medical emergencies during the event.

Administrative departments have also been directed to remain active during the celebrations. Officials said coordination between different government departments will help ensure smooth management of the religious gathering.

The annual Urs of Baba Diwan Haji Sher attracts thousands of devotees every year. Visitors attend religious ceremonies, offer prayers, and participate in traditional gatherings held at the shrine. The event is considered an important religious occasion for many people in the region.
