Umer Farid, Chief People Officer at PTCL, has been appointed to the Board of Governors of the Pakistan Society for Training & Development (PSTD), one of Pakistan’s leading non-profit organizations dedicated to workplace learning, leadership development, and professional excellence.
Farid brings more than two decades of experience in human resources, specializing in people strategy, organizational transformation, leadership development, and talent management across Pakistan and international markets.
At PTCL, he leads the company’s people strategy, overseeing organizational effectiveness, talent development, and leadership initiatives. Throughout his career, he has held senior HR leadership positions at PTCL & Ufone, PepsiCo, British American Tobacco, Telenor Group, and Pakistan Tobacco Company, with professional experience spanning Pakistan, South Korea, Norway, and Bangladesh.
His appointment comes as organizations across Pakistan increasingly focus on developing future-ready workforces amid rapid technological advancements, digital transformation, and changing workforce expectations. Industry experts believe his expertise in leadership transformation and organizational effectiveness will strengthen PSTD’s efforts to enhance professional development and promote greater collaboration between industry and the learning community.
