The Swat District Administration has launched a crackdown against Illegal Ziplines operating at popular tourist destinations across the district. The action was carried out in coordination with the Swat Development Authority after inspections found several facilities running without the required No Objection Certificates (NoCs).
Officials said the operation focused on improving tourist safety and ensuring that adventure activities follow legal requirements. Authorities sealed the facilities immediately after confirming they lacked the necessary approvals.
The joint inspection covered several well-known tourist attractions, including Mahodand, Saifullah Lake, Chashma Shafa Aabshar, and other locations in Swat. During the inspection, officials found that multiple operators had started services without obtaining mandatory NoCs from the relevant authorities.
According to the district administration, all Illegal Ziplines identified during the operation were shut down on the spot. Officials said no operator would be allowed to continue business without completing the required legal process.
Authorities have directed the affected operators not to restart their services until they receive all necessary approvals. They must also meet the prescribed safety and security standards before reopening their facilities.
Officials explained that NoCs are required to ensure that adventure tourism activities meet approved safety guidelines. These certificates help confirm that equipment, operations, and emergency procedures comply with official regulations.
The district administration said protecting tourists remains its top priority. Adventure activities can pose serious risks if proper safety measures are not followed. Officials stressed that all tourism businesses must operate responsibly and within the law.
The Swat Development Authority supported the inspection process to strengthen oversight of tourism-related businesses. Authorities said adventure service providers must meet all legal and technical requirements before offering activities to visitors.
The administration added that the crackdown on Illegal Ziplines is part of wider efforts to improve safety standards across tourist destinations in Swat. Officials believe stronger enforcement will help reduce risks and increase public confidence in local tourism.
Swat is one of Pakistan’s most visited tourist regions. Thousands of visitors travel to its lakes, valleys, and scenic attractions every year. The government wants to ensure that tourists can enjoy these destinations in a safe environment.
Officials also warned that inspections will continue in other tourist areas. Businesses found violating safety rules or operating without legal approval may face further administrative and legal action.
