The Passport Home delivery service has officially been launched in Pakistan, making it easier for citizens to receive their passports without visiting passport offices for collection. The new facility has been introduced by the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports (DGI&P) in partnership with TCS.
The initiative was launched on the instructions of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. It is part of the government’s broader effort to improve public services and make passport-related processes more convenient for citizens across the country.
The announcement was made during a meeting at the DGI&P Headquarters. Director General Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Randhawa met with a TCS delegation led by Chief Executive Officer Hassan Raza Laghari. During the meeting, both sides discussed the new delivery arrangement and its benefits for passport applicants.
Under the agreement, TCS has become the official delivery partner of the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports. Citizens applying for passports can now choose the Passport Home delivery option. This allows them to receive their passports directly at their registered address instead of collecting them from a passport office.
Officials said the new system is designed to save time and reduce unnecessary travel. It also offers a safer and more convenient way for applicants to receive their important travel documents. The service is expected to improve the overall experience for passport holders across Pakistan.
The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports said the Passport Home delivery service is part of its ongoing modernization efforts. The department has been introducing several reforms to improve efficiency and simplify procedures for the public.
Earlier, the department also introduced cashless payment facilities at passport offices. The latest delivery service continues that effort by making passport collection more accessible and user-friendly.
According to officials, the reforms support the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. The government aims to improve service delivery through digital solutions and better public facilities.
The Passport Home delivery option is expected to benefit thousands of applicants who prefer receiving their passports at home. It can also help reduce crowds at passport offices and make the collection process more efficient.
