French Woman Rescued in Pakistan After Being Held in House

Police conducted a raid in Khyber District, recovering a French national woman allegedly kept forcefully inside a house. The operation was carried out following a tip-off received by local authorities.

According to CCPO Mian Saeed, the woman, identified as Silvia Yasmeena, was recovered during the raid and shifted to safety immediately.

Officials said the woman had married a Pakistani citizen and had been living in Bara since 2014, where she allegedly faced continuous mistreatment and restricted movement.

Police further stated that she was not allowed to leave the residence and had reportedly suffered abuse and torture over several years inside the household.

Following her recovery, she along with her four children was moved to a women police station in Peshawar for protection, care, and further legal processing.

Authorities confirmed that a formal case has been registered against her spouse, while a letter has also been sent to the French Embassy through the Foreign Office. The woman has reportedly expressed her wish to return to France.
