Airblue Becomes Pakistan’s First Cashless Airline

Airblue has announced that it will become Pakistan’s first fully cashless airline as it celebrates 22 years of operations, marking a major step in its ongoing digital transformation journey.

The airline confirmed that starting July 1, 2026, all payments across its network will be accepted exclusively through digital channels. Cash transactions will no longer be accepted for bookings and other services.

Passengers will be able to make payments through the Airblue mobile app, the airline’s website, credit and debit cards, direct bank transfers, and leading digital payment platforms.

According to the airline, the move is aimed at improving operational efficiency, enhancing security, and delivering a smoother customer experience.

Airblue said the transition to a cashless model will provide safer and fully traceable transactions, reduce cash-handling delays, and offer travelers greater convenience through digital payment options.

The airline also highlighted benefits such as faster check-in and boarding processes, simplified booking procedures, and improved service efficiency across customer touchpoints.

By adopting a fully digital ecosystem, Airblue aims to streamline the travel experience while ensuring secure transactions throughout the customer journey.

Over the past two decades, Airblue has introduced several innovations in Pakistan’s aviation sector, including pioneering electronic tickets, launching the country’s first Airbus A321neo operations, and expanding online check-in services across its domestic and international network.

As the airline enters its 23rd year of operations, the cashless initiative reinforces its focus on innovation, efficiency, security, and customer-centric services.

Airblue said it remains committed to modernizing air travel in Pakistan and setting new standards through technology-driven solutions.
