Maryam Nawaz has said that the case involving PML-N MPA Saqib Chadhar and Momina Iqbal will be handled fairly and strictly according to the law.

The Punjab chief minister responded after Momina Iqbal accused the lawmaker of harassment and other serious misconduct allegations. The actress had also appealed to Maryam Nawaz for support and justice in the matter.

In a statement shared on X, Maryam Nawaz made it clear that no person involved in threatening, harassing, or exploiting a woman would be protected, regardless of their political influence or social status.

She stated that all state institutions would perform their responsibilities independently and impartially under the Constitution and law. The chief minister emphasized that no individual is above the law and warned that strict action would be taken against anyone found guilty.

Maryam Nawaz further said that any attempt to misuse political influence, pressure, or threats against women, including threats related to the release of private or personal content, would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

She described her message as a serious warning to anyone involved in such activities and stressed that the government would act firmly against those responsible.

The controversy gained attention after Momina Iqbal approached Chung Police on Friday and requested the registration of a first information report (FIR) against PML-N MPA Saqib Chadhar.

According to the actress, the lawmaker allegedly became verbally abusive after she rejected his marriage proposal. Momina claimed she refused the proposal after learning that Saqib Chadhar was already married to two women.

The case has generated widespread discussion on social media, with many users demanding a transparent investigation and protection for the actress.

Authorities are expected to continue legal proceedings as statements and evidence related to the allegations are reviewed by law enforcement agencies.
