Raja Pervaiz Ashraf Responds to Allegations Made by Anmol Pinky

Former prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has responded publicly after his name surfaced in connection with allegations linked to the high-profile “Pinky Case,” which has recently gained major attention in Pakistan.

Speaking during a session of the National Assembly, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf addressed reports claiming that Anmol alias Pinky, a woman arrested in a narcotics case, had mentioned his name during the investigation. He clarified that the accused woman’s lawyer had later explained the situation and corrected the public narrative surrounding the matter.

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader strongly rejected any attempt to associate him with the controversy. He said he has maintained a clean public and political record throughout his career and warned against spreading unverified allegations against individuals.

During his speech, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf stated that innocent people often become victims of conspiracies and false accusations. He emphasized the importance of responsible reporting and urged authorities to take strict action against individuals involved in spreading fake news or damaging reputations without evidence.

He also highlighted the growing issue of misinformation in the country and stressed that no person should be publicly disgraced unless allegations are proven through proper legal procedures.

“My party has taken immediate notice of the matter,” he told the assembly while defending his position. He further said that he had served the country in important constitutional offices, including prime minister and speaker of the National Assembly, and had always maintained a transparent public life.

The controversy emerged after the arrest of Anmol alias Pinky earlier this month from her apartment in Karachi’s Garden area. The operation was reportedly conducted jointly by police and a civilian intelligence agency.

Authorities registered cases against the accused related to alleged possession of narcotics and an unlicensed weapon. Following the arrest, the matter quickly attracted media attention and sparked political debate.

The case has also created problems for the Sindh Police after reports surfaced regarding alleged protocol provided to the accused during custody. The Inspector General of Sindh later suspended three police officers for reportedly violating official Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

The “Pinky Case” continues to remain under discussion on social media and in political circles due to its growing controversy and institutional implications.

Meanwhile, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has called for greater responsibility in public discourse and media reporting. He stressed that allegations should not be treated as facts until verified through proper investigation and legal process.
