The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced that salaries and pensions for government employees will be paid earlier than the usual schedule ahead of Eidul Azha. The decision was taken to help employees and pensioners manage their financial needs and complete Eid preparations without difficulty.
According to officials, the provincial government wants to provide maximum convenience to workers and retired employees before the religious festival. Early payments will allow families to purchase sacrificial animals, arrange travel plans, and meet other household expenses linked to Eid celebrations.
Authorities said the move reflects the government’s commitment to supporting public sector employees during important occasions. Many government workers welcomed the announcement and described it as a timely relief amid rising inflation and increasing living costs across the country.
The release of salaries and pensions before Eid has become a common practice in several provinces, especially during major Islamic festivals. Such steps are usually taken to reduce financial pressure on employees and ensure smooth celebrations for families.
Officials further stated that all departments concerned have been instructed to complete the payment process on time. Banks and treasury offices are also expected to coordinate with the government to avoid delays in disbursement.
Eidul Azha is one of the most important religious festivals for Muslims around the world. The occasion is observed with special prayers, animal sacrifices, charity, and family gatherings. As preparations begin across Pakistan, the early salary announcement is likely to bring relief to thousands of employees and pensioners in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
