Shehbaz Sharif and Azerbaijan President Reaffirm Strong Bilateral Cooperation

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. Both leaders discussed strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in key sectors.

During the call, Shehbaz Sharif and President Aliyev expressed satisfaction over the positive direction of ties between the two countries. They reaffirmed their commitment to further deepen cooperation in trade, investment, and energy.

The leaders also emphasized the importance of people-to-people contacts. Both sides agreed that stronger social and cultural links would help bring Pakistan and Azerbaijan closer.

According to official sources, the conversation was warm and friendly. Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his best wishes to President Aliyev for the upcoming World Urban Forum in Baku.

He said the forum would provide an important platform for global discussions on urban development. He also appreciated Azerbaijan’s role in hosting the international event.

Shehbaz Sharif noted that due to official commitments, he would not be able to attend the forum personally. However, he confirmed that Pakistan will be represented by a delegation at the event.

Both leaders also discussed regional and international issues of mutual concern. Special attention was given to ongoing peace efforts in the Middle East.

President Ilham Aliyev appreciated the diplomatic efforts of Pakistan in supporting regional stability. He specifically acknowledged initiatives related to a ceasefire between Iran and the United States.

He stated that these efforts reflect the growing trust of the international community in the leadership of Pakistan. He also praised the constructive role played by Shehbaz Sharif in regional diplomacy.

During the conversation, both leaders agreed to remain in close contact. They also expressed hope for further high-level exchanges in the near future.

Shehbaz Sharif extended a formal invitation to President Aliyev to visit Pakistan. He said the visit would help strengthen cooperation between the two friendly nations.
