GCU Opens 3,000 Admission Seats for Intermediate Students

Government College University has announced 3,000 Admission Seats for intermediate programs for the upcoming academic year. The decision aims to provide more educational opportunities for students across Punjab.

The university has also introduced 300 extra Admission Seats at its Kala Shah Kaku campus. These seats are specifically for pre-medical, pre-engineering, and ICS students.

Officials said the new seats will help students from nearby districts. It will also reduce pressure on the main campus.

Admissions are open in several major groups. These include pre-engineering, pre-medical, general science, computer science, commerce, and humanities.

Students can apply for both morning and afternoon shifts at the main campus. The Kala Shah Kaku campus will also offer selected programs.

Director of Intermediate Studies Siddique Awan said applications must be submitted online. The deadline for submission is April 30.

He added that students do not need to submit hard copies of their forms. This makes the process easier and more convenient.

The university confirmed that admissions will be based only on 9th Class BISE results. No entrance test will be held.

This policy follows the guidelines issued by the Punjab government.

Applicants have been advised not to submit separate forms for morning and afternoon shifts. The university will prepare separate merit lists for each shift.

In addition to open merit, reserved Admission Seats are available for students with special achievements.

These include athletes and students involved in co-curricular activities. Categories include public speaking, acting, singing, Rover Scouts, Qiraat, and Naat.

Officials said trials for sports and co-curricular categories will begin on May 11.

Vice Chancellor Prof Dr M Omer Chaudhry said the extra seats at Kala Shah Kaku will support more students. He noted that demand for quality education continues to rise.

He also announced a free daily shuttle service between the main campus and the KSK campus.

This transport facility will help students travel easily between both locations.
