Petrol Price Relief Expected in Pakistan Amid Global Oil Price Drop

The Petrol Price in Pakistan is expected to decrease in the upcoming review as global oil markets show a strong downward trend. Recent developments have increased public expectations of further relief in fuel costs.

International crude oil prices have dropped by around 10 percent. Rates are now hovering near $84 to $85 per barrel. This decline has created pressure on local fuel pricing, raising hopes for a reduction in the Petrol Price.

The federal government is set to announce its next petroleum pricing decision soon. This weekly review is closely watched by citizens across the country. Many are expecting a significant cut due to falling global rates.

Sources familiar with the matter suggest that the Petrol Price could come close to Rs350 per litre in the next announcement. If implemented, this would mark another major relief for consumers dealing with rising inflation.

In the previous price revision on April 11, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif approved a reduction in fuel prices. Petrol was reduced by around Rs12 per litre. Diesel saw a much larger cut of nearly Rs135 per litre.

Officials stated that these reductions reflected changes in international oil markets. The government has indicated that it aims to pass on the benefit of lower global prices to the public.

Currently, the Petrol Price in Pakistan stands at Rs366.58 per litre. Diesel is priced at Rs353.42 per litre. These rates may change depending on the outcome of the upcoming review.

Experts say the recent drop in oil prices is linked to easing geopolitical tensions. There is growing speculation about a possible breakthrough between the United States and Iran. Such developments can stabilize oil markets and reduce price volatility.

Brent crude is currently trading around $90, while US West Texas Intermediate remains near $83.85. These figures show a general downward trend in global oil prices.

Analysts believe that if this trend continues, further cuts in the Petrol Price are likely. Lower fuel costs can reduce transportation expenses and ease pressure on household budgets.
