Al-Ghazi Tractors has reached a major milestone by producing its 600,000th tractor. The achievement was marked at the company’s manufacturing plant in Dera Ghazi Khan, where operations began more than four decades ago.
The milestone unit, a Ghazi 640 model, was rolled out during a special ceremony attended by company officials. The facility, which covers around 3.9 million square feet, has been the backbone of Al-Ghazi Tractors since 1983.
Company representatives highlighted that more than 92 percent of tractor parts are produced locally. This reflects the strong contribution of Al-Ghazi Tractors to Pakistan’s industrial development. It also supports the country’s efforts to promote local manufacturing in the agriculture sector.
The company operates as a subsidiary of the Al-Futtaim Group and works with international partner Case New Holland. Over the past 42 years, Al-Ghazi Tractors has focused on designing machinery suited to local farming conditions. This approach has helped farmers improve productivity and efficiency.
Chief Executive Officer Yasin Seker said the milestone represents more than just production numbers. He noted that it reflects the trust of farmers who have relied on the company’s products for decades. The company believes this trust has been key to its long-term success.
Pakistan’s agriculture sector plays a vital role in the economy. It employs nearly 40 percent of the workforce and contributes around 24 percent to the national GDP. Experts say access to modern machinery is essential for improving crop yields and reducing manual labor.
Al-Ghazi Tractors has built a wide distribution network across the country. This allows farmers in remote areas to access tractors and after-sales services. The company says this network helps ensure support and maintenance for customers nationwide.
Industry analysts view this milestone as a sign of steady growth in Pakistan’s agricultural machinery sector. Increased mechanization is expected to support long-term development in farming.
