Petrol Pump Fined Rs11 Million for Fuel Adulteration and Hoarding

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has taken strict action against a Petrol Pump involved in illegal practices. The authority fined the owner Rs11 million for fuel adulteration and hoarding. This move is part of a wider crackdown to ensure fuel quality across the country.

According to officials, the Petrol Pump was identified as Rana Filling Station in Muzaffargarh. The action followed a media report that exposed illegal storage of petroleum products. After the report, OGRA teams carried out a detailed inspection at the site.

During the raid, authorities discovered a large quantity of fuel stored without proper authorization. More than 135,000 litres of petrol and diesel were found at the location. Officials confirmed that the storage was illegal and violated regulatory rules.

Laboratory tests were conducted on the seized fuel samples. The results showed that both petrol and diesel contained harmful chemical substances. These chemicals were mixed to increase quantity and profit. Experts say such adulteration can damage vehicle engines and harm the environment.

Further investigation revealed that the Petrol Pump was involved in distributing the mixed fuel to different areas. The illegal activity raised serious concerns about public safety and fuel standards. OGRA stated that such practices would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

As part of the action, OGRA cancelled the No Objection Certificate (NOC) of the Petrol Pump. Authorities also ordered the seizure of all machinery, equipment, and storage tanks at the site. The district administration has been instructed to take control of the seized petroleum products.

The Petrol Pump was operating under a private oil company. OGRA has now decided to take action against the company as well. Officials said investigations are ongoing to identify all parties involved in the case.

OGRA emphasized that strict enforcement measures will continue nationwide. The authority aims to protect consumers from substandard fuel and illegal hoarding. It also warned that no leniency will be shown to those violating fuel quality standards.
