Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to depart for Saudi Arabia on Thursday evening for a two-day official visit, where he will hold high-level talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, according to official sources.
The prime minister will be accompanied by a high-level delegation during the visit, which is expected to focus on strengthening bilateral relations and discussing key regional and international developments.
During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman are expected to review Pakistan-Saudi Arabia ties and explore ways to enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The two leaders are also likely to discuss the evolving regional security situation and ongoing diplomatic efforts to promote peace and stability.
According to sources, the meeting will include an exchange of views on the ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States, as well as regional initiatives aimed at preventing further escalation through dialogue and diplomacy.
The visit comes at a time of heightened tensions in the Middle East, with Pakistan maintaining close diplomatic engagement with regional partners and supporting peaceful solutions to ongoing conflicts.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for Saudi Arabia’s security, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and prosperity during a telephone conversation with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
During the call, the prime minister strongly condemned attacks carried out by the Houthi militia on Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea. He described the attacks as a violation of international law, saying they threatened freedom of navigation, commercial shipping, and regional stability.
Prime Minister Shehbaz also reiterated Pakistan’s complete solidarity with the Kingdom, stating that the government, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and the people of Pakistan stand firmly alongside the Saudi leadership during challenging times.
