US Vice President JD Vance Arrives in Islamabad for Ceasefire Talks with Iran

JD Vance has arrived in Pakistan to lead a high-level American delegation for crucial ceasefire negotiations with Iranian officials. The visit marks an important step in ongoing diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions in the Middle East.

The US delegation, led by JD Vance, includes key figures such as Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff. They are expected to take part in detailed discussions aimed at finding a peaceful solution to the conflict.

Upon arrival, JD Vance and his team were received at Nur Khan Airbase by senior Pakistani officials. These included Ishaq Dar, Mohsin Naqvi, and Asim Munir. The reception highlighted the importance Pakistan places on these negotiations.

The flight carrying JD Vance took a longer route to reach Pakistan. It avoided Middle Eastern airspace due to security concerns. The aircraft departed from Maryland and made a stop in Paris before continuing its journey. It then passed through Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan before entering Pakistani airspace near Chitral.

The plane was welcomed by the Pakistan Air Force and safely landed at 10:33 AM. Officials described the arrival as smooth and well-coordinated. The visit comes shortly after an Iranian delegation also reached Islamabad for the same talks.

The Iranian delegation is led by Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf and includes Abbas Araghchi. Their arrival followed a two-week ceasefire agreement facilitated by Pakistan. This agreement has created a positive environment for dialogue.

Before his departure, JD Vance stated that he is participating in the talks under the guidance of Donald Trump. He expressed hope that the negotiations would lead to positive outcomes. He also emphasized the importance of diplomacy in resolving conflicts.

The US-Iran talks are scheduled to take place in Islamabad. Pakistan is playing a central role as a mediator in these discussions. Officials have reiterated their commitment to supporting peaceful solutions.

To ensure smooth arrangements, the government has announced visa-free travel facilities for both delegations and journalists. This step aims to facilitate coordination and improve coverage of the talks.
