Pakistan Flood Warning Alert for Multiple Regions

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a flood warning for several regions of the country. The alert is valid from April 2 to April 4, 2026. It comes after updated weather and water flow assessments.

Officials said the situation may worsen due to changing hydro-meteorological conditions. Authorities have been asked to stay alert and take preventive steps. The flood warning highlights both river flooding and sudden flash floods in different areas.

River Kabul at Nowshera is expected to reach a high flood level during this period. This raises concern for nearby communities. Tributaries connected to the river may also overflow, increasing the risk of flash floods.

In Balochistan, several seasonal streams and rivers are under threat. These include Zhob, Nari, Beji, Shirin, and Bolan. Flash flooding is likely in these areas due to expected heavy rainfall. Local authorities have been advised to monitor water levels closely.

The situation is also serious in DG Khan Division. Hill torrents in Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur may cause sudden flooding. These fast-moving water flows can damage roads, homes, and crops.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rivers such as Kohat Toi, Kurram, and Gomal are also at risk. Their tributaries may see a sharp rise in water levels. This adds to the overall danger in the region.

Northern areas are not safe either. Nullahs in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir may overflow. This could lead to local flooding and travel disruptions.

The flood warning also urges the public to stay cautious. People living near rivers, streams, and nullahs should remain alert. Unnecessary movement should be avoided, especially during heavy rain.

The PMD has advised all concerned departments to remain prepared. Emergency teams should be ready to respond if conditions worsen. Timely action can help reduce damage and protect lives.
