Government Procures Laptops for PM Youth Scheme 2026, Apply now

The Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme has entered its fourth phase, with the government purchasing 100,000 laptops for distribution among students across the country.

According to reports, the total cost of the project has been set at approximately Rs16.8012 billion. The budget covers the procurement of laptops along with import costs and other related expenses.

A significant portion of the funds, nearly Rs15.16 billion, has been allocated for foreign payments since the laptops are being imported from overseas suppliers.

The total procurement contract has been finalized at around $37.7 million. The per-unit price for each laptop is estimated at about Rs376.96 including taxes, which translates to slightly over Rs100,000 per device in Pakistani rupees.

The supply contract was awarded to a joint venture between M/S Ai Stone Tong Fang and M/S HNR Pakistan. The companies secured the contract by offering a competitive combination of technical specifications and pricing.

The procurement process was conducted under the rules of the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA). An open tender for the project was advertised on August 4, 2024, in national newspapers and official government websites.

Seven companies participated in the bidding process, including major public and private sector organizations such as National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC), Jazz, and DWP Technologies.

Officials said the evaluation process was carried out in two stages. Bids were first assessed for technical capacity and quality, followed by financial evaluation using a quality-and-cost-based selection method to ensure both standards and competitive pricing.
