Pakistan has unveiled plans to build an artificial intelligence-driven operating system designed to modernize governance, streamline administration, and improve public-sector efficiency nationwide.
The initiative is being led by the Pakistan Digital Authority, which has begun groundwork on a Cognitive Government Operating System integrating AI into state operations.
Officials say the platform will transform how departments function by restructuring workflows, reducing duplication, and replacing traditional bureaucratic models with streamlined digital processes.
The project is being developed with support from the Ministry of Information Technology, which has shortlisted international consultants to help design system architecture and implementation strategies.
Authorities explained that simulations and real-world use cases will demonstrate how AI tools can assist senior policymakers in decision-making and interdepartmental coordination.
Leaders believe the system will create a unified governance framework and serve as a roadmap for phased digital reforms supporting long-term national modernization goals.
