New OGDC Well in Sindh Produces Impressive Gas and Condensate

Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC) has announced the successful testing of its new development well, Dars West-3, in Tando Allah Yar district of Sindh. The company shared the update through a filing to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.

The well was drilled to a depth of 2,100 meters in the C-Sands of the Lower Goru Formation. OGDC conducted the testing using its in-house technical expertise. During the tests, the well produced 9.70 million standard cubic feet of gas per day. In addition, it delivered 580 barrels of condensate daily at a choke size of 36/64 inches. The wellhead flowing pressure was recorded at 1,725 pounds per square inch from the Lower Goru C-Sand reservoir.

OGDC said the test results confirm the strong hydrocarbon potential of the Lower Goru C-Sand reservoirs in the Dars West area. Officials added that pipeline installation is currently underway. Once completed, the gas from Dars West-3 will be routed to the KPD–TAY processing plant. From there, it will enter the Sui Southern Gas Company Limited transmission network for supply to consumers.

The Dars West Development and Production Lease is operated by OGDC, which holds a 77.5 percent working interest. The remaining 22.5 percent stake is owned by Government Holdings Private Limited. The company emphasized that this development reflects its ongoing focus on reservoir evaluation, well testing, and field development.

OGDC also noted that the initiative aligns with its strategy to increase domestic oil and gas production. The company said the testing reinforces its commitment to enhancing energy supply in Sindh. The disclosure was made in accordance with the Securities Act, 2015, and Pakistan Stock Exchange regulations.
