A high-level Senate delegation, led by Deputy Chairman Senator Syedul Khan Nasar, will visit the United States from January 20 to January 25, 2026. The Senate Secretariat described the visit as a historic milestone in Pakistan-US parliamentary relations.

For the first time, the Pakistan-US Inter-Parliamentary Group (IPG) will formally participate in the delegation’s visit. Officials called this a breakthrough in strategic and non-traditional parliamentary diplomacy.

The visit aims to strengthen democratic institutions through direct engagement between elected legislatures. It comes at a critical time for global and regional stability, particularly in South Asia and the Middle East. Parliamentary institutions are increasingly seen as key actors in promoting dialogue and governance.

According to the Senate Secretariat, the Senate delegation will focus on establishing a permanent mechanism for sustained inter-parliamentary dialogue. The delegation seeks to enhance legislative cooperation, share best practices, and improve parliamentary oversight in both countries.

Engagement with the Pakistani American community is also planned. Delegates will present Pakistan’s parliamentary perspective on regional and global developments. The program will promote scientific, cultural, and policy-oriented cooperation alongside political dialogue. Stay updated on US-Venezuela relations as Trump hints at possible further measures against the country’s new leadership.

The visit will mark the first formal engagement of a Pakistani parliamentary delegation inside the Rayburn House Office Building under the auspices of the US Congress. This historic step is expected to lay the groundwork for regular parliamentary exchanges between Pakistan and the United States.

Press conference and media interactions are scheduled at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. Additionally, community and policy receptions will take place in New Jersey to further promote dialogue and cooperation.

Officials said the visit will enhance legislative ties, build institutional partnerships, and strengthen mutual respect between the two nations. The delegation’s work will contribute to long-term strategic engagement anchored in democratic principles.

The Senate Secretariat emphasized that the visit reflects Pakistan’s commitment to democratic values and institutional collaboration. Observers see it as a step toward more robust parliamentary diplomacy and a historic chapter in bilateral relations.
