Pakistan, Bahrain Sign Strategic Football Cooperation Agreement

The Pakistan Football Federation and the Bahrain Football Association have signed a strategic memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening bilateral football cooperation and long-term development. The agreement marks an important step for Pakistan football as it seeks stability, technical growth, and improved governance through structured international partnerships.

The memorandum was signed by Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Football Association, His Excellency Sheikh Ali bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, and Pakistan Football Federation President Syed Mohsen Gilani. The signing ceremony was held at the Bahrain Football Association headquarters in Riffa, attended by Secretary-General Rashid Al-Zoabi and senior officials.

Under the agreement, both federations committed to a comprehensive roadmap covering technical, administrative, and developmental cooperation. The partnership is designed to enhance football standards by sharing expertise, experience, and modern management practices across different levels of the game in both countries.

A major focus of the agreement is collaboration in national teams and age-group football. Joint training camps, friendly matches, and exchange programs will be organised to help develop young players and better prepare national teams for regional and international competitions.

The partnership also places strong emphasis on referee development and administrative capacity building. Training courses, certification programs, and specialised workshops will be introduced to improve technical knowledge and ensure alignment with international football regulations and best practices.

Officials from both sides expressed optimism that the cooperation will deliver long-term benefits for Pakistan football, particularly during its rebuilding phase. The agreement reflects Pakistan’s renewed engagement with Asian football and Bahrain’s commitment to supporting regional sports development initiatives.
