LAHORE – A 42-Foot Christmas Tree Installed At Liberty Chowk Lahore On The Directives Of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Has Become A Symbol Of Unity And Inclusion This Festive Season. The giant Christmas tree installation reflects a broader message that minorities in Punjab are valued, respected, and safe, as stated by the CM in her social media announcement.
Punjab’s Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) carried out the installation, transforming one of Lahore’s busiest intersections into a festive landmark ahead of Christmas celebrations. The towering tree, brightly adorned with lights and ornaments, has drawn crowds of families and visitors since its unveiling, radiating holiday cheer and communal harmony.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the Christmas tree installation conveys Punjab’s commitment to “love, plurality, and inclusion,” reaffirming that religious minorities are an integral part of the province’s social fabric.
The initiative comes amid a larger effort by the Punjab government to ensure festive occasions are celebrated with dignity. As part of the province’s “Christmas Cleaning Plan 2025,” authorities are preparing churches, Christian colonies, and public spaces across Lahore and other cities for Christmas festivities, ensuring cleanliness and safety for worshippers and residents alike.
This year’s celebratory mood echoes recent inclusive gestures by the provincial government, including support for interfaith harmony rallies that drew thousands, highlighting a trend toward greater visibility for Christian festivals in public life.
In related developments, the Sindh government recently declared two public holidays to recognize important national observances, demonstrating a growing regional emphasis on acknowledging diverse cultural and religious occasions.
As Lahore lights up for Christmas, the Christmas tree at Liberty Chowk stands as a powerful emblem of peace and coexistence, reinforcing the message that festive joy and minority inclusion are priorities for Punjab’s leadership in 2025.
