Following orders from the Director General (DG) of the Food Authority, food safety teams conducted a raid at a dairy unit in the Mohar area, near Bhauni.
DG Food Authority Asim Javed explained that the suspect was producing fake milk by blending powder, water, and thickening chemicals into low-quality ghee, then processing the mixture in blue drums to replicate the color and texture of real milk.
Additionally, toxic chemicals and sugar were being added to enhance taste and appearance. After an extended investigation, the suspect, who had been concealing his activities in the village, was caught red-handed.
The raid led to the seizure of vehicles, mixing machines, blue drums, and ghee tins found at the dairy facility.
According to DG Javed, the suspect had been supplying thousands of liters of counterfeit milk made with powder, substandard ghee, chemicals, and contaminated water to premium areas of Lahore daily. The adulterated milk was destroyed after failing spot tests.
