While 149 trapped Pakistanis were returned to Jinnah International Airport in Karachi following an earlier evacuation by a Pakistan Air Force Airbus, 110 Pakistanis were transported by the C-130 Hercules, which took off from Jeddah on Friday.

Senior PAF officers had issued orders for the difficult evacuation operations to save fellow citizens trapped in the war-torn Sudan. When the country is in need during emergencies and natural disasters, the Pakistan Air Force’s transport fleet has always been in the forefront of the response.
The 1,500 Pakistanis were regularly in communication with the Pakistani Embassy in Sudan, which also made every effort to get them all the services they required. In order to interact with Pakistanis who were advised to stay at home, the embassy created a WhatsApp group.
