In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Turkiye, Bangladesh, Brazil, Colombia, Indonesia, Jordan, Libya, Maldives, and Spain strongly condemned Israeli actions against humanitarian flotillas attempting to deliver aid to Gaza.
The statement recalled with grave concern previous Israeli interventions against aid flotillas operating in international waters. The ministers criticized the continuation of hostile actions targeting civilian vessels and humanitarian activists participating in peaceful relief missions.
The foreign ministers stated that attacks on civilian ships and the arbitrary detention of activists represent clear violations of international law and international humanitarian law. They stressed that such actions undermine freedom of navigation and threaten humanitarian efforts aimed at supporting civilians affected by the conflict in Gaza.
The joint statement also expressed serious concern over the safety and security of activists detained during the recent aid mission. Among those reportedly detained was Saad Edhi, who was participating in the humanitarian flotilla. The ministers demanded the immediate release of all detained individuals and called for full respect for their rights and dignity.
The countries further stated that repeated attacks on peaceful humanitarian initiatives demonstrate continued disregard for global legal obligations and humanitarian principles. They urged the international community to take immediate action to protect civilians and humanitarian missions operating in conflict zones.
The ministers called on global institutions and world powers to fulfill their legal and moral responsibilities by ensuring accountability for violations against humanitarian missions and by taking concrete steps to end impunity surrounding such incidents.
