Zayn Malik's New Photoshoot Inspires Major Style Goals for Desi Men

Zayn Malik, the former One Direction member and celebrated solo artist, has graced the cover of Harper’s Bazaar India, showcasing his unique style in traditional Indian outfits designed by Manish Malhotra. The cover shoot features Zayn in four distinct looks: a black bandhgala jacket, an embellished blazer with shirt and pants, an embroidered green coat with a velvet pants ensemble, and a richly adorned blue sherwani with a coordinating kurta and pajamas. His fans have been especially excited about the blue sherwani, which has garnered significant attention online.

In the accompanying interview, Zayn shares insights into his evolving personal style and philosophy towards fashion. He expresses his belief in fashion as a tool for self-expression and mood enhancement, stating, “You don’t have to stay in one genre or limit yourself to a specific style. You can always switch it based on how you’re feeling and express yourself.” He also reveals that if he’s having a bad day, dressing up helps him feel better.

Zayn is also making waves with his new solo album, Room Under the Stairs, which blends R&B with Americana and folk music while paying homage to his Pakistani roots. He describes how the album began with a song called “Alienated,” written six years ago, and how it led him to explore and unlock new musical potentials. He emphasizes the deeply personal nature of the project, noting that he wrote the lyrics for 12 out of the 15 songs and co-produced the album, deciding against featuring other artists to keep the narrative true to his own story.

Zayn’s relationship with his fans is evolving as he grows and learns, and he acknowledges their crucial role in his journey. Despite his usual privacy, he has been opening up more, sharing his pre-show ritual (simply brushing his teeth) and his future plans, which include going on a solo tour. He now lives a quieter life in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, enjoying gardening and spending time with his daughter. However, he reassures fans that he is ready to return to the stage, grateful for their patience and excited for the next chapter of his career.
