Walima Reception of Zayd Hussain Nawaz Sharif Marks the Culmination of Extravagant Wedding Festivities
LAHORE – The much-anticipated Walima reception of Zayd Hussain Nawaz Sharif was held at the Sharif family’s residence, Jati Umra in Lahore, concluding a week of lavish wedding celebrations. The event brought together a distinguished guest list, including political figures, international dignitaries, and close family members.
Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, alongside his younger brother and current Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif, drew significant attention at the ceremony, adding even more prominence to the occasion. Images from the event have circulated widely, showcasing the opulence and grandeur of the evening.

Earlier in the week, Zayd Hussain Nawaz’s Nikkah ceremony took place at Jati Umra on Wednesday night, officially kicking off the wedding festivities. The celebrations saw the arrival of international guests from countries such as India, the United States, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE.
Jati Umra, the Sharif family’s residence, was tastefully decorated for the occasion, with exquisite lighting and floral arrangements along the roads, setting the perfect tone for the celebrations. Security measures, managed by the Punjab Police, were implemented to ensure the safety and convenience of all attendees.
The wedding procession (baraat), which featured family members, political leaders, and foreign guests, departed from Jati Umra for a private hotel on Raiwind Road. Following the wedding procession, the Walima reception took place on Sunday, December 29, with around 500 guests attending the baraat and approximately 700 guests expected for the Walima.
The week-long celebration also included the Nikkah and Mehndi ceremonies at Jati Umra, contributing to the festive atmosphere. This memorable series of events has been one of the most talked-about occasions of the year, with political figures and international attendees making the wedding of Zayd Hussain Nawaz Sharif a highly discussed topic across the nation.
