Young Indian Man Disguised as Senior Citizen Foiled at Canadian Flight

A dramatic incident unfolded at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) when Guru Sewak Singh was apprehended by India’s Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) for attempting to board an Air Canada flight using the passport of a 67-year-old man named Rashvindar Singh Sahota.

Suspicion arose due to Singh’s unusual appearance, which included dyed white hair, glasses, and an attempt to portray himself as much older than his actual youthful appearance.

Authorities quickly noticed discrepancies between his physical appearance and the aged persona he was trying to assume. Upon rigorous questioning and scrutiny, Singh eventually admitted his true identity only after officials insisted on verifying his real passport.

Following this revelation, Delhi Police took Singh into custody for further investigation. Despite efforts to contact Air Canada for comment on the incident, no response was received by the time of publication.

In a separate incident on June 28, heavy rainfall and strong winds caused a roof collapse at New Delhi’s main airport, resulting in one fatality and leading to flight cancellations at one terminal. The collapse occurred at 5 a.m. (2330 GMT) in the departures area of Delhi airport’s terminal 1, as reported by airport officials and media outlets.
