This action followed Israel’s military’s claim that it had successfully intercepted an “aerial target” near the Red Sea city of Eilat.
This marked the third operation aimed at Israel, with Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree warning of more such attacks in a televised statement. Saree emphasized that these assaults would persist until Israeli aggression ceased, referring to the conflict against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

Subsequently, the Israeli military clarified that its systems had detected an approaching aerial target, ensuring the safety of civilians. There were no reports of any missiles or drones striking Israeli territory from the Red Sea on that day.

On October 10, Yemen’s Houthi leader, Abdel-Malek al-Houthi, had previously stated that if the United States directly intervened in the Gaza conflict, the Houthi group would respond by launching drones and missiles and considering other military actions.
The Houthis perceive themselves as part of the “Axis of Resistance,” a coalition that includes Iranian-backed Shiite Muslim factions in Iraq and Lebanon’s Hezbollah group.
The Houthi movement has been engaged in a conflict with a Saudi-led coalition since 2015, resulting in the loss of hundreds of thousands of lives. During this ongoing conflict, the Houthis have targeted key assets in the Gulf, notably energy facilities in Saudi Arabia.

Separately, the Israeli military disclosed that it deployed the “Arrow” aerial defense system for the first time since the outbreak of the war with Hamas on October 7 to intercept a surface-to-surface missile fired toward Israeli territory in the Red Sea.
In addition, Israeli fighter jets intercepted other aerial targets in a separate incident.
The previous week, Israel accused the Houthi movement of deploying drones that caused explosions in two Egyptian towns along the Red Sea, asserting that these actions were intended to target Israel.
On October 19, the Pentagon reported that a U.S. Navy warship intercepted three cruise missiles and several drones launched by the Houthi movement from Yemen, potentially aimed toward Israel.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
