Actor and writer Yasir Hussain stirred controversy after blaming women for promoting multiple marriages and extra-marital affairs during a recent TV interview.
While clearly stating his personal opposition to polygamy—saying he only loved and married one woman—Hussain shifted much of the blame for these issues onto women. He claimed that women are more responsible than men for enabling second marriages and affairs in society.

He argued that many women willingly enter relationships with married men, questioning why they would do so if they already knew about the man’s marital status. He acknowledged a small percentage might be unaware but insisted that most such relationships are intentional.
Hussain also alleged that some women push men to leave their wives, often seeking financially stable and older partners. He said such men appear more attractive due to their established lives, responsibilities, and assets.
His remarks have sparked major backlash online, with many accusing him of deflecting blame from men and perpetuating a misogynistic viewpoint despite his stated disapproval of polygamy.
