Xiaomi Targets Delivery of Over 300,000 SU7 Electric Cars This Year

Xiaomi, the Chinese tech giant, is making a significant mark in the electric vehicle (EV) market. In 2024, the company delivered over 150,000 units of its first EV, the SU7 sedan, marking a major milestone.

Launched in March 2024, the SU7 quickly gained popularity, especially in December, when over 25,000 units were delivered in just one month. This strong momentum has set Xiaomi on track to reach its ambitious 2025 target of delivering 300,000 vehicles.

The sedan’s success can be attributed to its affordability and versatility, with three versions available: Standard (RMB 215,900/$29,775), Pro (RMB 245,900/$33,912), and Max (RMB 299,900/$41,360). The demand is so high that customers now face a waiting period of up to 20 weeks.

Xiaomi’s founder, Lei Jun, recently showcased the SU7’s autonomous parking feature during a live demonstration. He also introduced a striking red 15th-anniversary edition of the sedan, which will be delivered in March 2025.

Looking ahead, Xiaomi plans to expand its EV lineup, with the high-performance SU7 Ultra, priced at RMB 814,900 ($112,385), set to debut in March 2025. Additionally, an SUV model, the YU7, is expected to launch by mid-2025.
