Xiaomi is gearing up to launch its Xiaomi 15 series next month, coinciding with Qualcomm’s anticipated release of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. The series will include the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro, with the Pro model getting a major camera upgrade, as revealed by Weibo tipster “Experience More.”
The Xiaomi 15 Pro will reportedly feature the same Sony IMX858 telephoto sensor as the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, making it the best telephoto camera yet in a Xiaomi phone. This sensor offers a 120 mm focal length with 5x lossless zoom, compared to the 75 mm telephoto lens with 3.2x optical zoom in the Xiaomi 14 Pro. The Sony IMX858 is a 50MP Quad Bayer sensor with a 1/2.51-inch optical format and 0.7µm pixels. Additionally, the phone will sport a 50MP main sensor with a variable aperture from f/1.4 to f/2.5, and a 50MP ultrawide lens.
