WSSP starts the canal cleaning process.

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Peshawar High Court (PHC) directives, Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP) began cleaning the Hazar Khwani Branch Canal near Yakatoot, according to a news release released here on Thursday.

In order to stop littering and rubbish being dumped into the canal, trash cans have also been constructed, according to WSSP, at a number of spots from Bairy Bagh to Graveyard.

It is pertinent to mention here that the irrigation department is responsible for the cleaning of the canals but WSSP management has initiated de-silting in accordance with court orders to clean the canal and launch an awareness campaign. “We are committed to fulfilling our responsibilities regarding the cleanliness and sanitation of the city. The Yakatoot Canal cleaning campaign and awareness drive prove the commitment of WSSP to keep the environment clean,” said Chief Executive Officer of WSSP Dr Hassan Nasir while commenting on the canal cleaning campaign.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
