In Rawalpindi’s Chakri Road area, a woman from Muzaffargarh sustained severe injuries after her ex-husband attacked her with acid.
According to the police, the victim, a resident of Kot Addu, Muzaffargarh, had filed for Khula (divorce) against her former husband.

The attack took place while she was on her way to court with her father for a hearing. Her ex-husband, accompanied by two unidentified individuals, ambushed them and threw acid, injuring both.
The victims were taken to Holy Family Hospital for medical treatment.
Following the incident, Rawalpindi CPO Khalid Mehmood Hamdani took notice and ordered the immediate arrest of the culprits. The police have since apprehended the ex-husband, Muhammad Riaz.
Investigations are ongoing, with authorities stating that the attack stemmed from personal enmity. Police have assured that efforts will be made to ensure the accused faces legal consequences.
