Windows users experience significant outage due to a new CrowdStrike update

A global outage affecting Windows 10 systems has been linked to a recent update from cybersecurity firm Crowdstrike. Users worldwide are encountering issues where their PCs are stuck on the recovery screen with the message, “It looks like Windows didn’t load correctly. If you’d like to restart and try again, choose Restart my PC below.”

The disruption has affected various sectors, including banking institutions, supermarkets, and media companies in the United States. Reports indicate that TV studios and radio stations are among those impacted, with some experiencing downtime.

The exact cause of the outage is not yet confirmed, but Crowdstrike has acknowledged the issue, noting that they are investigating the problem. Large multinational companies in India are also experiencing similar issues with Windows-based desktops and laptops, with users reporting widespread Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) errors.

One user shared, “Something super weird happening right now: just been called by several totally different media outlets in the last few minutes, all with Windows machines suddenly BSoD’ing. Anyone else seen this? Seems to be entering recovery mode.”
